Modvigil 200 (Modafinil): A Mood Booster

Modafinil, sold as Modvigil 200, is given to people with sleep disorders like narcolepsy, obstructive sleep apnea, and shift work sleep disorder who are too sleepy during the day. Modafinil is a drug that is called a "wakefulness-inducing eugeroic."
Even though modafinil is not usually thought of as a "mood booster," it may improve mood indirectly by making people less tired and more aware. Some people who are tired say that taking modafinil makes them happy because it makes them more alert and less sleepy.
Keep in mind, though, that Modafinil may have weak or no affects on empathy for some people. Modafinil works more on the parts of the brain that keep you awake than on the chemicals that control your feelings.
